Heading North

We have been traveling for about 3 weeks.  It was tough to pack our suitcases.  We only brought one suitcase per person. Anymore and we wouldn't be able fit them in the car.  We needed to bring some summer clothes for the start of the trip when we left Florida, and then we also needed some dress clothing for the cruise.  Finally, we needed some warm clothes and some rain gear for the Scottish weather.  We were able to get a small bag of clothes washed on the cruise, but since then we have been washing clothes in the sink.  I mentioned to the cleaning staff at the inn that our clothes were getting a little "stiff".  They offered to wash our clothes for free.  They were so kind to make this offer, so we now have some pretty good smelling clothes.  We did leave them a generous tip.

Eating breakfast at the Oyster Inn prior to leaving for the Isle of Skye

We left the Oyster Inn this morning and headed into downtown Oban.  Rox and Holly found a wonderful fabric store.  We also visited a store that sells genuine Harris Tweed garments.  I tried to visit another castle, but they wanted 9 pounds for me to take a picture of it, so I passed on that opportunity.  We then headed north to the Isle of Skye. The mountains in the highlands of Scotland are impressive.  Some of them still were topped with snow.  We drove by Ben Nevis which is Scotland's highest mountain at 4,409 feet.  We also drove by the Eilean Donan Castle and we gazed at it for awhile.  We ended up in Skeabost and are staying at the Skeabostview B&B on the Isle.
